Come grow old with me, the best is yet to be

Queen of Cool brought up a good topic for today’s post. She mentioned how it’s amazing and disturbing that as you get older you get less and less particular about your appearance. For instance, you go an extra week (or two) between pedicures. You find yourself wearing a ball cap to run errands. You glance in the mirror before leaving and think, “Good enough.”

I have found myself putting my hair up in a ponytail on the weekends to avoid having to dry my hair. Oh, and I only wear my contacts while at work. I have started wearing comfortable shoes. (Queen of Cool, however, is sticking to her guns on that one: she still takes style over comfort. See how cool she is?)

This fact scares me a bit because I have never considered myself high maintenance and so I don’t have many beauty steps to skip. This probably also makes Cynical fearful as he plans to grow old with me. I am not sure the best is yet to be when it comes to the future with me. However, I did notice that over the weekend his clothes didn’t match, so maybe this phenomenon is true for guys as well.

I recall spending hours grooming, washing, ironing, and prepping for each outing, but each morning, I put forth a little less effort. Sad, eh? I am still obsessed with hygiene, mind you, but the ponytail seems OK and the glasses aren’t too bad, right?

Oh, who am I kidding? I have gotten lazy and it shows. No wonder the guy at the gas station called me "Ma’am".

Just a few quick updates:
Temperatures last night:
65 degrees (can you hear the angels singing?)

Cola intake for Thursday:
One 12-ounce Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper

Rock Star: INXS:
Still not being aired here, as the channel is not being broadcast. Queen of Cool and I are not happy and plan to make our dismay known to anyone that will listen. Problem is that no one is listening.

Mowing Situation:
Wondering if you can bail Bermuda grass and if there is a market for it. Hoping perhaps for that unheard of Kentucky grass fire. Queen of Cool has suggested crop circles and I like that idea, it might get us on tv!

Tomatoes:
I picked two rather small, but nicely ripe tomatoes last night. I am expecting quite a bounty this weekend. Trust me, I will share photos. (No, I don’t have anything more exciting going on in my life. It’s sad, but true.)

Glad to add you, Nicole. I enjoy your blog.

Don't be jealous, my tomatoes are kinda tiny, but that just means they are easier to eat, right?

I am more jealous that you just saw DMB. I am literally green (nearly as green as my tomatoes)with envy.

I too wish we could watch Rock Star: INXS. I am hoping for a rerun of the show this weekend. I am a fan of Jordis too. Isn't she from MN?
