Shiny, happy people

In a last minute move, Cynical and I met for lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant. After much eating and good conversation, we headed out, but not after opening a fortune cookie in search of great knowledge. Knowledge we did get in the form of: "It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are." I know, it's a fortune cookie message, but I think it was profound.

We also fed Cynical's need for small plastic toys by stopping by the gumball machines on the way out and spending a buck to get this cat.

Mementos from an hour well spent. (Even though now I smell like a mixture of smoke, cabbage and shrimp.)

I have to agree. It's my mantra for the week. Much better than: Live long and prosper. Hey, wait I am confusing Star Trek for Chinese philosophy.

The Chinese place used to have a great selection of Homies and my nephew was wild about them. I think that is what got the whole thing started.

We have quite a collection! It's something we have in common with my nephew. I think there is a new series out now.
