Cynical and I have a favorite Chinese restaurant and once in a while, we meet up there for lunch. It's a buffet, so I feel a little ashamed even mentioning that we belly up to the trough regularly. What makes this restaurant interesting is that it rotates its smoking section, so you never really know which side you will be sitting on. It's always a mystery.
Also, the owners are apparently trying to improve their revenue stream by selling a few "authentic" items. I have threatened several times to purchase them as Christmas gifts, but instead, I am going to share them with you here.
Is there an irony in the fact that they are cats? At a Chinese restaurant? You make that call.
Please note that in the photo at top all of the idols are golden, this totally upsets any Baptist heritage still in me. The cat at right is disturbing simply because it is what greets you as you enter the "foyer". Do they really want a cat greeting you at a Chinese restaurant? I don't think the implication was completely considered. For those of you that have been here before, you may recall Cynical's fascination with small plastic toys, here you get a glimpse of the machine that eats his quarters regularly.

Why do golden cats upset your Baptist heritage?
Haven't you heard about worshiping golden idols? My grandfather would thump the Bible for days if he saw these. ; )
Nicole, now when you open it you have to act surprised, OK? And send a thank you note in timely fashion!
:-)
I hear ya. It's a huge pet peeve of mine. I never hear back from any of my family. I don't know if it arrived. I don't know if it fit. I don't know if they liked it. So, why bother.
