I can feel it coming in the air tonight

I've been trying to post a photo in celebration of the start of autumn, but alas I am not having much luck.

I wanted to use a photo because I fear that often my words do not do the season or my feelings about it justice.

I have always delighted in fall. I have forever wasted away my summers anxiously awaiting the first falling leaf, the first hint of a cool autumnal breeze and the first sight of a bright yellow mum.

I can feel it coming. I can sense it in the few turning leaves, the cool mornings, the passing of tomato season. I know it's nearby because I have spied bright mums at the hardware store and I had to wear a jacket last evening. I know it's approaching because we opened up the windows and I pulled out the Indian corn and hung it.

It's nearby, can't you feel it in the air tonight?

There is something about autumn that is soothing. It may not be that way for everyone, but it certainly is for me.

I am excited to know that the leaves are changing in your area, it won't hit here for a few weeks yet. A few are turning, but not many.

I was elated to see the giant piles of pumpkins outside the grocery store this Saturday. It means it's here, it's really here!

I am always so tempted to get my pumpkin to early, so I make myself hold off, but I just may have to get one this weekend and a couple of mums too!
