It's official. I got no skills. I got no knitting skills. I got no creative skills. Not even numbchuck skills.
So, I am knitting along on this scarf, envisioning myself as a master knitter. As I knit and knit and knit I daydream of beautiful yarn, overwhelmed gift recipients and happy needles. Then it hits me like a ton of bricks. All I can make is scarves or blocks. A girl can only make so many scarves and who wants a block o' knitted item. I seek advice and scary terms like "yarn over" and K3 are tossed at me. I dunno what those mean. Somebody help me. Somebody save me.
Then I realize the daydream is over. I am only foolin' myself. I got no knitting skills. I don't even know the language. How can you advance if you don't speak "knittese"? Time to pull out the "Knitting for Dummies" book.

Jennifer was at this very point this past spring. And what did she make? That's right, a felted bag. You too, will be a-okay. :)
I feel like I need knitting therapy!
You got skills, girl! Anybody that can write as well as you do has plenty of skills. That, and the knitting looks good to me (who doesn't knit at all!)
Maybe the term "Nit-picking" isn't what I thought. Maybe it's "knit-picking" and was invented by novice knitters to describe their frustration with the knitting process. Just a thought.
Cate, you make a good point. I am getting much guidance from Needlefingers, so maybe I can make it through the scarf to other project transition.
Maybe I am knit-picking. Good point!
PS: Thanks for the compliments.
