Proof that I am taking this knitting thing pretty seriously. My first "gift" project, a scarf for a co-worker is in the works.
For all of you avid knitters, I know that this is a knitted stitch, not a purled stitch, but it made for a better heading. And, yes, it's novelty yarn, but she's a novel girl, so it's fitting.

It's the purl bumps you're seeing anyway, so your title fits. :)
And it's looking very nice. We have to plan a winter knitting retreat.
Does it look OK? I kinda just made it up. Should I have followed a pattern or counted or something. I just knew I wanted it a little wider than what we created and I liked the garter stitch because it made the fluff fluffier (as if that made sense)?
Are you going to shoot me for using novelty yarn? I am savin' the good stuff (that I plan to purchase) for those who'd appreciate!
oh my goodness...you're a natural! :)
I wouldn't say "natural" I gotta get beyond scarves first, but thanks for the kudos!
You were right, she's the best teacher ever!
I can't believe you've not knitted before. It looks great. I always wanted to learn to knit, but never had anyone to teach me. I think it would be great for times you have to sit (doctor's office, teacher's meetings, etc.) and need something easy to do while you wait.
I am dire need of a teacher. I am good and started, but losing my way through the instruction books at this point. Nothing works better than face to face instruction!
