Random thoughts and other junk

I don't have one specific thing that I want to rant or talk about today, so my plan is to bore you with random thoughts.

The big news at Chez Ragged is that we ordered a laptop. Yes, we are greeting the 20th Century with wide open arms and wallets. It's due to be shipped soon and I am antsy with anticipation. I cannot wait to use it, all cuddled up in bed while watching "Lost". I have big plans for this baby and I hope it's up to it.

This morning we had a visitor at our door. A neighborhood cat, kitten in fact, had pressed his or her face to the storm door and was trying to make new friends. Poor thing, it was 25 degrees outside and we were so tempted to add to our brood, but then reality hit us and we put some food and the kitty house outside for our new "outdoor" cat. The kitty house, sadly, was much to small for our "overgrown" pets, but fit our visitor (to use the words of Goldilocks) "just right."

I left this morning humming "Karma Chameleon" as we had been listening to one of the "Omigod It's like the 80s" cds. Never do that. No matter how tempting it is. Avoid hearing this song before you leave for work. You are stuck humming "love would be easy if colors were like my dreams. . . red gold and green. . . red gold and green."

We managed to drag out Christmas decorations last night in an attempt to get a jump on the holidays. I still feel a little guilty about doing this so early, but we don't have a lot of free time between now and the holidays, so it seemed practical. Thus far the tiny tree on my desk and looped rug in the office are big hits with the cats. We gotta do something about that. It does seem cozy though and I loved "discovering" my decorations all over again.

In other news, I have posted both the "Hot Head Hat" and "Ribbed for Her Pleasure Scarf" in my finished projects page if you wanna take a gander.

So, were you as bored as I predicted?

Oh how fun, a Christmas kitty!!! I'm starting to dig out the tree and various bits and bobs around here too. I think I may even have a few doohickeys.

I suspect we have a lot of "what were we thinking" decorations too!

Never bored! We have the tree upstairs and the Thanksgiving stuff downstairs and so far that's about it. I am so tempted to string popcorn this year for the tree. I love the look of it, but will I still be stringing Christmas Eve? And the Christmas cards, I haven't even gotten them out yet.
Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma cha . . .help.

I love popcorn on trees, but I fear it would attract the attention of our pets and when we put the tree up I am gonna attempt to deflect their attention.

Wish me luck!

Deflect their attention? I'd like to hear more about how you intend to do that.

Well, I tempt them with milk rings, balled up paper and boxes. It seems to be working, but that's it: a lot of work!
