It's Thursday and the end is near, I fear. Whenever Vacation 2005 began approaching, we started having luscious dreams of home improvement. We had visions of completed painting projects, shiny new light fixtures and ceiling fans, and a glistening tiled back entry.
We plotted. We planned. We made multiple lists. So, how did we find ourselves, one real day of vacation left and nothing completed or even started.
We did buy the light fixtures. We selected the tile. We even have the paint and brand spanking new brushes. Originally we had the supplies in our living room, waiting to be used, waiting to be installed, but they mocked me, so I put them in the basement in hopes they would no longer guilt me. Now whenever I go down there to do laundry, I avoid their gaze. I look away in denial.
However, it's starting to hit me that if we don't make a dent in that list, we may never get it done. Once we go back to work and re-enter the real world, there won't be time or energy to get them done. We won't have the will and the desire, so the buckets of paint, the boxes of light fixtures will only get dusty. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe never. Who knows.
The photo above is of Ike and Cooper snuggling on the bed. You know you have been in the house too long whenever you take at least four photographs each day of your cats. Someone save us.

Gosh, Ike and Cooper are cute!
I've been to Amazon today to look for books about painting kitchen cabinets. I told Hub we would either have to paint them or get new. It was like I sucked the air out of him, so I think he's gonna wanta paint them. In the spring I hope!
Cute picture of your cats. Since I got my new camera, I have been testing it out on all our pets. They have had just about enough.
We also always have big plans for our vacations. Never finish everything though.
Enjoy your last day.
I hate home improvements. I think partly because they are always bigger chores than you expect and secondly, in the words of Napoleon Dynamite, we got no skills
Don't do anything! Wring every last second out of this glorious vacation! Didn't it just go too fast?
those kitties look like they're posing for Cat Fancy. So pretty!
I love your kitties!
Don't stress about not getting everything finished. You've got all the supplies wrangled. When you're ready to do your projects, everything will be ready for you.
Kinda like coming home to a crock-pot meal. You forget that you got up that morning to put the stuff in it, and it's like some little fairy made you dinner.
Did that make sense at all...
We always seem to get more done while we are working. Vacation is for sitting around with your feet up watching crap t.v. For me, coming home to dig, pound or paint helps me forget the stress of work.
Ike and Cooper thank you for the compliments. I have decided to launch their modeling career: about time they contribute to the household income.
Alas, the painting and plans can always wait, eh? Just easier to be productive when your time is more "valuable" eh?
