I wish I may, I wish I might

have this wish, I wish tonight:

I wish that I didn't really, really want the sugar cookies in the tin in the kitchen.

I wish I had gotten one last gift for my nephew. (I gotta see that kid open a toy and not just an Itunes card, a nice card mind you, but still it's no toy. Darnit. Why did he have to grow up?)

I wish that the cats would quit sleeping behind the tree and knocking needles off.

I wish that Cynical's sister's plumbing would be fixed. (This is two-fold: I hate for her to be battling back-ups during the holidays and with Princess M and all. Plus, we'd be off the hook for hosting the family Christmas night. Gosh, that's selfish, but by then I will have had my fill of my family and will really want a refuge. However, I am glad that we are able to step in and it will all come together. I am sure of it.)

I wish that for the next three days our families can get along with each other and us.

I wish that everyone would be gracious and grateful.

I wish that money didn't matter.

I wish that I could see all of my friends and not only at Christmas time.

I wish that I could meet you guys in person and give you each a knitted scarf and monster cookies.

I wish for Christmas Santa would give me tougher skin, more confidence, rhythm and the ability to cook at least three dishes well.

I also wish he'd bring me another week of vacation, a lawn boy, a maid, a personal knitting instructor, lots of yarn, a bamboo needle set (I hear they are all the rage), a Starbucks that delivered, speed reading classes, Tivo, lots of good mail, lots of good e-mail. . . . . . .

I wish each of you a happy, peaceful, joyous Christmas filled with lots of giggles, full stockings, sugar cookies and loved ones near.

I wish I may, I wish I might. . . get this wish I wish tonight.

I hope all your Christmas wishes come true! (and I hope you get an interchangable bamboo needle set but if you dont and I win the lotto, I'll totally get you one!)

Here's to everyone being on their best behavior, and lots and lots of cookies. :)

I haven't even thought about MY wish list yet! Hope you get all your little heart desires.

If your family makes you crazy, just put your hands over your ears, close your eyes, and go to your "happy place".

Ragged, I'm so glad you write a blog and I found it! You have a knack for writing and making it so real, and funny, and true. So what I'm saying is, thanks for moving into my neighborhood. . . even if it is a virtual one. Merry Christmas from my house to yours. Cate
