I have big news for you. Don't hold your breath, I am not getting married. I am not "with child". I am not changing careers. I did not learn to cook and I haven't lost the 30 pounds I need to.
Cynical is taking a break from his second job! (I just did a little cartwheel in my mind when I typed that.) It's been a long time coming, prayers are answered and if you wish on enough stars, sometimes you get your way.
As a little background for those of you just now joining us, Cynical, in his quest to be debt free (free from student loans in particular), has become a follower of Dave Ramsey and even took on not one, but two additional jobs. That means he had been leaving at about 7:45 each morning and coming home around 8:30 each night. Didn't give us much time together. Didn't leave him with much energy and left me cleaning house each night, watching a lot of tv and searching for hobbies.
After much discussion, a little begging and some realizations, he's opted to take a break from the night job until the near end of the year. Everyone do the wave!
I am so excited. I really am. It's awesome to be able to have dinner together, have someone do the heavy lifting at the house and to have my beloved near.
There is one catch: I had gotten used to my little evening routines, uninterupted and such. I don't mind giving up my cereal for supper or even sacrificing some of my computer time, but I want the remote back. I want to watch one show in its entirety without having to guess what happened during the 8 minutes we flipped to another show. Last night we watched Survivor and Real World simultaneously. I couldn't tell which was which after a 30 minutes of continual flipping and just quit trying. I kept waiting for someone to vote Danny off for wearing that stupid hat or for the Survivors to go to a club and dance on the bar.
All in all, I am loving the new routine, but I really do want that remote back.
On a recent yarn run to Evansville with my fellow knitting buddies Jennifer and Needlefingers, I bought some Chinese Flower Green Tea by Harney and Sons Fine Teas. It's cold outside today, so I cracked open the tin and am going to try some. The tea bags were these beautiful little creations. Aren't they incredible. I do so love hot tea.

I'm worse than Hub for checking the other channels during commercials and guessing as to when the commercial is over, but he's definitely worse about being unsatisfied with something and leaving for something else just as I get interested in the first thing.
For awhile, with our old tv, we each had our own remote and, let me tell you, while "dueling remotes" may be the most adrenaline pumping thing we did all day, it did NOT make a happy couple. I gave up and started watching in another room.
I suspect I will start watching television in our room, but I wanted to give it a go for a while. Oh, well.
Dueling remotes would bring out the worst competitive nature in me! I can only imagine!
omg, what is up with Danny and those stupid hats?!
yay to getting your honey back!
Those hats are silly and they are right, that boy's got an ego.
Cheers, dahling! I'm drinking a cup of green tea as I type.
I get absolutely dizzy from all the flipping of channels in my house. D doesn't seem to care what's on, only what ELSE is on.
I was so upset because I missed Survivor this week since I was in Chicago. I keep saying this, but we need to get a TiVo. I hate missing my shows. On another note, glad to hear you will get to spend more time with your honey.
One more things...love your "put yourself on the map"..don't mind if I borrow that for my blog...thanks...
Cynical always drove me nuts with his constant channel changing, when we were kids. I hoped he would grow out of it.....I guess not.
