Sprite and crackers

Last night we managed to maneuver our futon from the living room into our basement for temporary storage. This is not an easy task given our narrow doorways, height differential between our "movers" and a series of curving steps. (One of us is freakishly tall and it ain't me.) Needless to say our blinds and our futon now have a new "rugged" appearance.

I get pretty frustrated sometimes that nothing seems to go smoothly for us on the homefront no matter how much preparation we put into it. I had cleared a path to the basement. I had even threatened the cats that if they attempted to trip us that we'd switch to generic food. I even said a little "let me be patient" prayer before we started. None of this helped.

Pray that I am able to disguise the few nicks the futon took and that Cynical is able to repair the blinds. I would kill to have one piece of furniture in good condition, one room completely painted and one thing knocked off our ever growing to do list.

In other news, I woke up this morning with a stomach ache. The stomach "flu" is going around, so I am snacking on crackers and Sprite today, much to my dismay as I have big lunch plans with my work buddies. I will, however, not miss lunch out. I may have to bring my own barf bag or pull over on the way there, but I am not eating in today. I swear as veggie pizza is my witness I will not let this "cramp" my style. Oh, and also wish me luck as I am about to gift my first knitted item of the season.

Last night Cynical and I drove round and round judging the holiday lighting contest. My high maintenance beloved got car sick (apparently this is contagious), antsy (kinda like when he's ready for us to go upstairs to sleep at night and I am not and he keeps asking me if I am tired until finally I am tired of him asking and give in.) and a little bored with decoration gazing (as in multiple sighs and requests to listen to the radio instead of the festive holiday music I have chosen for us), so we skipped coffee and retreated to our warm home, where he finally talked me into going to bed earlier than I wanted. No reading, no knitting, no television, just warm covers, many cats and snoring.

I just read over this entry: talk about a lot of nothing. No theme here. No continuity, just random thoughts. Let's blame it on the stomach flu.

Hey, Don't knock "nothin". I liked it! Isn't that what Seinfeld was made up of? And look how long that show lasted.
