red?
Ok, so now you know, I color my hair. I never expected to be a full-fledged color-a-holic by the age of 35, but alas, I had no choice. Premature gray hair in the split of my part was more than I could handle, so I had to seek professional help.
I made a long overdue visit to the beauty shop (let's do away with the aires and call it what it is: a beauty shop, not a salon or a spa). After mucho dinero, lots of elapsed dryer time and nearly dozing in the wash area, I left ever so pleased, only slightly dismayed with the amount of hair I had surrendered to my fair hairdresser.
My freshly-colored-and-cut-hair euphoria came to an end when I walked through the door, flipping hair triumhantly and Cynical noted that my hair was "really red". Hmmm, guys don't know anything about hair color, so I snubbed him. Then as we were getting ready to go to a play tonight I took a long hard look in the mirror and realized he may just be right. UGH, I can't decide if this is a good thing or not. Maybe redheads have more fun. I'll keep you posted.
In other news, the new Sony MP3 player is fully locked and loaded, ready to escort me on my next excursion to the Y. I have visions of me burning up the treadmill in rhythm to "Song for the Dumped" by Ben Folds Five or maybe "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" by the Gap Band. (Wonder if when they reunite they will wear fleece hoodies and medium rise jeans.)
I also want to thank each of you for our caring words concerning my grandmother's recent illness. It means so much just to know that someone else out there is praying for each of us. I still don't have any news. Let's work under the assumption that "no news is good news". It's really affected me and I don't know how much I can verbalize is now, but rest assured, there will be lots of blogging about her in the upcoming days as she is on my mind in a very intense way.
We went to see a play this evening ("Driving Miss Daisy") and I must admit that it hit all too close to home. I know that my Dad and I were both affected, and relived Mamaw's decline as we sat in the dark theater.
I know I haven't posted photos in a while, but check out the Finished Projects section. I put a few new photos of my latest creations. Not very exciting, so please don't get your hopes up: no socks, sweaters or gloves, just a few silly little projects.

So, the good and bad thing about red is that it fades really quickly. However, it lasts longer than any other hue, paradoxically. So, my unsolicited device is if it's a natural color, just a little bright, then see how you like if after a few washes. If it's red like unnatural food dye, then get your lady to fix it before people start confusing you with "cherry flavor".
And maybe ask for a few other opinions. Men aren't so good about things like that.
I don't know, maybe "Ragged: Now Comes in Cherry Flavor" could be a good slogan.
I'm sure your hair is ok. And either way, it's easy and quick to fix.
I just read your post about your grandmother. It was so sweet. It;s so difficult to watch someone really age. I'm sorry.
