Redemption. . . well sorta

I may have mentioned that I was falling down on my promises for 2006 and it's still the first week of the new year. I was sorta feeling guilty about not holding to most of my resolutions, so I decided to do my version of "catching up" last night.

Well, I redeemed myself in some ways, but not in others. I got off on the right foot literally, but didn't stay at the pace I needed to get my year off the way I had wished.

I began my evening by working out with Cynical. A friend was there too and we spurred each other along and I managed to get a great session in. Lots of biking. Lots of treadmilling and even some crunches (125) on the bouncy ball. Cynical loaned me his MP3 player when he had to leave and I must say that listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers sing "Higher Ground" while on the treadmill does pick up the pace.

I was energized and ready for my next set of tasks, which I had thought would be loading my MP3 player, developing a "Narnia" schedule and completing my readings and journal entries. What I got done instead was a load of laundry, completion of a birthday gift scarf (which was due to be gifted today), sweeping of our floors, organizing my yarn (yes, there is enough to require organizing), posting of a complete list of my other finished knitting projects, updating my list of needles (something every obsessive-compulsive knitter needs to do), photographing completed knitting projects (but not posting them), and eating three Hershey's mint chocolate kisses.

So that means an MP3 player sits still in the package, waiting for me to claim it and all of its powers. My poor book club is still waiting for me to announce the schedule and I didn't eat a single vegetable last night.

There's always the weekend, right?

This morning I did hold true to another resolution: David Gray joined me on the way to work this morning via his "White Ladder" CD. So love that guy's voice and the flow of his songs. Why didn't I dig that one out earlier.

Never fear, there is still time to squeeze in Abba and the B-52s.

Remember that the book club is a "no-stress" zone!

IMO working out totally cancels out the fact you didn't eat any veggies.

I keep telling myself that the first week of work wasn't a good time to start facilitating anything outside of the office, so your words ring true.

It is a no stress zone, right?

It was an awesome workout, one of those that energizes you and makes you feel good, no matter how many calories were burned or weight lost, it was just good for the body.
