Spiraling out of control. . .

No, that's not how I describe my life. . . at least not at the moment. It's the caption for the photo above. It's the top of my Kittyville Hat and I am ever so proud. It's amazing what stitch markers can do for a novice knitter. This photo does not do the color justice, it's kinda pretty if I do say so myself.

I went to my knitting group last night where we celebrated the birthday of our host, I completed one ear and one earflap on the hat, virtually unassisted.

As I sat there listening to the ladies chat, I kept thinking, this is my grandmother's kinda place. She loved the company of women and prided herself on strong friendships. An active member of her Sunday school class, a Bridge group, a quilting party, a garden club, a senior singing group and who knows what else, she found herself in circles of women, where she'd giggle, tell funny stories, and provide support.

She would have enjoyed a knitting group full of women of different ages and backgrounds, sharing their lives with each other. She'd appreciate that I bit the bullet and joined the group, that I laughed along at their stories and interjected thoughts of my own. She'd be proud to know that I too pride myself on my friendships and love the company of those I care about. She'd never say it, just smile to let me know.

One Last Goodbye
I just read Not So Simple's latest entry entitled "One Last Goodbye". It is perhaps one of the most touching things I have ever read. It reminded me what it's all about. Enough said, read it for yourself.

What a touching goodbye.

I hope her loved one is treated with the care he deserves.

Your hat is beautiful. Can't wait to see it completed.
