These times. . . they are a changin'

Lately as I have perused blogs, I have noticed lots of people noting the milestones in their lives over the past year. I had pondered that myself and then felt a little silly as I feared I didn't have much to share.

However, after talking with Cynical about the big changes ahead in 2006, I realized that perhaps our lives did adapt, change and alter in 2005 much more than I had ever imagined.

For instance, in the last year I moved from a home that I have lived in for 7 or 8 years. I downsized my life in a big way. I hauled all of my stuff and three cats to a completely different area of our town. No, it wasn't a cross country trek and no, I didn't have to learn a new language, but it was a milestone, for both Cynical and I. The two of us, in the same household, making compromises, sharing our lives 24/7 with each other. It doesn't get any more monumental than that.

Soon thereafter, we welcomed the long-awaited little Princess S to the world, forever changing all of our lives. On March 1, we became privvy to sharing in the life of perhaps the cutest little baby ever birthed, my niece.

In the past 12 months I have also begun refreshing and rebuilding my relationship with my brothers. That tie had been long neglected and was in need of some repair and strengthening. I am blessed that I was able to reconnect, mend and appreciate that bond.

I was also blessed by reacquainting myself with my favorite of all couples: Needlefingers and Pilot, who I blame, I mean appreciate, for turning us into blogging, knitting, geocaching fools.

In July of last year I began blogging. I cannot tell you how much this form of expression has meant to me. I cannot begin to explain how much my online friends mean to me and how I look forward to my time not only here writing, but reading your entries as well. I had long looked for a creative way to express myself and had so longed for input and insight from those like me and unlike me. This was the ticket.

We also saw Cynical's mother through bypass surgery. Relished in her recovery and were relieved when she quit smoking.

Lots of other changes still in progress, so many things that lie ahead of us. Big plans, big moves and big growth await us and I can't wait.
