I think I can. I think I can.

As of late I have been a bit disappointed in my knitting. I just hadn't finished or started anything that enthralled me. The sweater was starting to bore me. I was frustrated with my finishing on a seed stitch scarf. It seemed fruitless to create something you were so pleased with only for the finishing to ruin it for you.

I had also missed two weeks of knitting group; once because I was swamped and couldn't justify going and the other because it was cancelled. However, this Monday we were back up and running and for some reason that really gave me a jump start.

I suspect it's hearing that other experienced knitters sometimes struggle with finishing or maybe it was just good to be around someone is just as interested in what's in your knitting bag as you are. I find such a kinship each time I sit with this group and it's not all about needles and yarn. I learn from their life experience, I revel in their successes (knitted and otherwise) and I feel for them when they have tough times. I fear I am not much of a contributor to conversation, but I so enjoy listening to them as they chat and share. It's a tight group and I am so pleased just to be part of such a bond, just a neat group of ladies and to learn from them whether it be finishing techniques or how to get your beloved to help with housework. They are a storehouse of knowledge on all fronts.

So, alas I am determined to finish the sweater and I will wear it even if it is just to sit and knit in the backyard in the afternoons. I will finish the wavy scarf even though I am bored to tears with it.

And. . . I am contemplating two sock classes taught by my own knitting guru, Needlefingers. She's going to teach the two circular and Magic Loop methods and I think I'd like to try both. I can already taste the yummy socks I will make. Now I just have to choose yarn. I am open to suggestions, so if there are any knitters that venture near this site and have some ideas for what I shall use to create these wonders, please pass along your knowledge. I'd like to avoid any black and white in the yarn as I am trying to break away from the colors that currently fill my sock drawer and wardrobe.

Now I just need to find a finishing and seaming class and I will be set. . . until I discover something else I want to learn. It's never ending, is it?
