I can see clearly now

Last night after work, I dragged myself home to find the most wonderful of things had been delivered to my doorstep: my glasses. You would have thought Santa had made another trip around the world and bestowed upon me all of the things I have been hinting at for the past 5 years including a hammock, a metal detector and copy of "The Sound of Music" on DVD. I was that excited. Vision is not to be taken for granted.

I ripped into my package and found inside my brown case protecting my nerdy, but completely functional glasses. I thanked the postal gods. Thanked Needlefingers for bringing them back home to me and proceeded to rip out my contacts and slam the horn-rimmed beauties on my face. Who would have thought I had such a bond with something that makes me appear so hideous and studious all at once.

Alas, Wednesday night should have been an evening of non-stop sock knitting and tiny type reading, but instead it was cleaning night. Yes, cleaning night was moved up a few days in lieu of several big events on our calendar including a yard sale (aka chance to dump my stuff on someone else), parental visits (aka pray for us) and a play (a comedy, thank goodness). I could now clearly see the cat hair floating upward as I turned on the ceiling fan, so something had to be done.

In addition, I completed a super secret project, which, since it is drying in the open garage now isn't so secret after all. I recently purchased a rather ugly metal bookstand/holder type of thing whenever I was hunting for vintage knitting needles and Scrabble pieces (a story for another day). I saw potential in this little metal holder sitting quietly at Goodwill. I also saw that a coat of paint was in order. My first task yesterday was painting it chocolate brown, sort of a face lift for the new millenium if you will. It's not quite the dark chocolate color I had hoped for, instead being more of a more milk chocolate appearance, but it will do. All chocolate is good afterall, right? Never fear, I took before and after photos to bore you further with the sad details of my life.

Yesterday was cleaning day at Brando's house. I bought yin a little 9 storeage cubie with slid out baskets in four of the cubes.

Since she hit the mother load for her birthday it was time to move out some of the baby toys. Each time I put something in the to go pile she would say 'Wow'. At first it was cute, but when she wrestled me to the floor for some stuff...

Mr. Potato heads have a home, dress up clothes and baby dolls all have homes! Then I locked her out of her room. I wanted it to stay nice...

Good luck and the Garage Sale! I am glad you are back in the land of the seeing.

LOST... 1 word WOW!

I so love storage solutions. I suspect I would pester my kids (if I had any) with such devices, so I am on your side.

Lost was WOW! What's your take?
