It's Friday. It's pay day. It's casual day. It's the last day before a long weekend. Who could ask for anything more?
Well, I certainly could ask for someone to come dig through our camping gear, test our batteries, buy our food, check our propane, load the car, ice down the drinks and pack the appropriate amount of clothing for each of us. But I know that asking won't get me much, so I'd better kick into gear and get some of this stuff done myself.
Generally when we go camping, we head out on a Friday afternoon, so in a frenzy on Wednesday and Thursday, we scramble and cram everything imagineable into our car and head out immediately after work on Friday. However, a scheduling conflict means that we will not be joining our fellow campers until Saturday, so we mistakenly thought we had more time and I have wasted away my week with movies, knitting and season-finale watching. So, now I gotta pay the god of time and hurredly get this party started.
We are excited about going, but Cynical is dreading the heat and has been pouting all week about it. I am certain he thinks I have some pull with Mother Nature and I have assured him that if this were true there are several things on my request list ahead of summer heat.
I am ready to get out of Dodge. I am ready for marshmallows, crickets and sleeping bags. I am glad to leave behind the blow dryer, the television and the vacuum.
I am anxious to giggle with our fellow campers, eat lots of snack foods and laze away the day moving from campsite to campsite. I just want to be there and not have to get all of this stuff together and packed. I guess you gotta pay the price for such good times, eh?

And I'm ready to get a Dodge. Back, that is. 10:00 and no word, surprise, surprise, surprise.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have fun camping, I love camping.
Have a fun trip. I think camping sounds just right. Even though I haven't been in 10 years, it sounds like fun to me.
Oh, Camping! Fun. Haven't done that in years! Inkling is married! Just wanted you to know.
I'm not a camper, but I respect those who are. I'm sure it's an adventure!
