At Chez Ragged, we don't typically share the same tastes in television viewing. However, there are a few shows that we have in common including The 4400. For those of you unfamiliar with the drama, the premise is that 4400 people who have disappeared over several decades are mysteriously returned to one location simultaneously.
There is a lot more to it, but you have to visit the site to get the whole story. What is important here is that each is returned with a unique power which will enable them, according to recent episodes, to save the world. These talents range from predicting the future, to controlling electricity to healing to manipulating the actions and minds of others. . .
It made me wonder: what would I want my power to be? Then I thought further: what would you want your power to be?
The best answer just may win a prize. That's for me to know and you to use your power to figure out. I'll reveal my answer as well as soon as I come up with one.

Oh, I forgot it was on last night and didn't have TIVO set and missed it. We watched the made for TV AMC Western "Broken Trail", but I could have been taping "The 4400".
"Broken Trail" is turning out to be very good by the way. Second part on tonight so I'm taping "Hell's Kitchen".
Have you seen "Saved" by the way...If not give it a shot. It's on tonight at 10pm. I know you like Grey's Anatomy and it's kind of, sort of, not really but a little like that.
I don't know what power I would want yet...I'm still thinking.
girl, I just love your flora photography. It is so amazing. I have a penchant in that area myself, but I'm still learning to use my camera. I'm particularly fascinated by trees for some reason.
I haven't watched The 4400, but after reading the overview, I'm going to put that on my schedule. Based on the overview, I would want my power to be a mixture of clarvoyance and healing touch. I'm a clinical social worker (retired, yippee-skippee!) and I've often wished that I could understand clients and be able to give them a specific direction for healing. I guess it's too much to ask for, but wouldn't it be a wonderful thing . . . understanding and ability to direct mental/emotional health. My dream.
So tell us . . . what would your power be?
My power would be the power of home findings. What is this one might ask? I would be able to find good and loving home for all children and animals. My kids and pets mean so very much to me and I want all kids to have that a loving home.
I'd like my super power to allow everyone the ability to see and believe in their inner beauty. Oh, and make chocolate sugar and fat free, but still taste good!!!
I've thought about it and I think it would be great if you could have the power to link two people or a person and an animal (like in the movie Powder), and each could experience what the other was feeling. Just imagine what the world would be like.
I also like Phin's answer about chocolate!
I'd like to be able to heal people. In physical and mental/emotional ways. I would like to make people understand they are beautiful/special/loved, they can make it through this, and I'd like to be able to take the sickness away. All that falls under the umbrella of "heal".
I know what I'd like, but I can't put it into words. Has to do with making difficult co-workers more enjoyable to work with. :) I guess to cure insecurities.
Ok, this one was hard for me because I'd really want my super power to do good. Deciding which good was impossible. So I visited The 4400 website and they had that little quiz. I came up with:
A Big-Hearted Healer. Always a nurturer, you're a good Samaritan who would use Shawn Farrell's powers of healing to further aid those in need. It's not even that you're trying to be good - it's just your instinct to help others. An with a little help from the paranormal, you'll have the power to patch up your loved ones and strangers alike. Just don't forget to take a break from being vigilant and make sure you're tkaing care of yourself.
I like that! At least if I couldn't come up with it myself, I'm very happy with the super power their website thinks I'd deservant of. heehee!
So now, if I had another super power, I'd have the ability to watch all the cool TV show's I'm learning about. Off to TiVo this...totally sounds like something I'd dig.
