For the love of a sweater

I love knitting. I love yarn. I love knitting needles. I love perusing knitting books. I even love all of the gadgets associated with knitting.

But, right now I am not enthralled with any of my actual knitting projects. I know that in truth it's time for a sweater, but I am so very intimidated to make something I would feel obligated to wear. My last attempt was foiled by a poor choice in yarn. And, I was completely afraid of working on it alone as I seemed to come up with one snafoo after another.

So, now I am stuck. I am not itching to do another hat. I so love little dishcloths because they are quick and rewarding projects (and I love the idea of making something so useful so pretty. Plus they make great gifts). I love making bags and purses, but alas, a girl can only carry and gift so many. I am enjoying socks and will continually have a pair in the works, but I also need something larger on the needles.

I am not too intrigued with baby projects as, well, we just don't have a lot of babies around or on their way right now.

I am left pondering a sweater, knowing that it must be something I will wear. It must be something that fits well. Ideally it would be something I could wear now, this summer, and proudly boast that I made it. And here's the catch: I'd need to be able to craft it on my own without pestering yarn shoppe gals.

I am considering Green Gable, but worry about being too "chesty" in it.

If I were younger and smaller, I would gladly tackle Ms. Marigold.

Something Red is right up my alley, but I don't know.

Tulip seems so fresh and cool. But what colors and what yarn.

Why am I complete intimidated by something innate, something that can't bite, hurt my feelings or take away my birthday?

If I knew how to knit I would knit an afghan, my friends mother knits the most beautifull afghans and throws you ever seen. Maybe you could try one of those..

Enjoy reading your blog.
