Pondering possible powers

I am still considering what special power I would like to possess should I be a member of The 4400. I do know, however, that I would like to be able to distinguish the truth in all things. I'd like to have the ability to convince people to speak the truth in everything they do; require them to be honest about their motives, their feelings and their actions.

With a simple glare, the truth would be told by all around me. I'd be able to decifer fact from fiction.

I personally think the world would be a much more peaceful place if we all were completely honest and we knew that this candor would be greeted with genuineness from others. This would break down all of the protective barriers we all use, it would remove pride, ego and insecurities from the equation. We'd admit our faults and mistakes. We'd break down facades and throw away masks.

Another shot from the farmer's market last weekend.

I think that if everyone were in the same situation, being completely truthful, the outcome would be much different. We'd be on an even playing field.

Love the picture. Is that dill? Yum, I love to use fresh dill in many things. Such a delicious flavor.

If everyone were honest, it could be wonderful, but I was thinking how hard it would be to know when others are not being truthful and how depressing it could become. Your power would have to be very very very strong. Good luck on that!

I agree with Needles. Complete honesty would be disasterous! If the people around me knew the things that I think about them, well, let's just say it wouldn't be pretty. Instead of complete honesty, complete kindness.

I don't think the honesty thing would go over well for me at my work. I answer phone calls all day with people wanting to talk with my boss. (salesmen) I am constantly telling them she is out of the office when she is standing right beside me alot of the time. I think the honesty thing would be fine at home though.
