Because I felt like it

Presenting. . . my little green felted Mary Jane slippers. I know they are unusual. I know they are very green. But I know I love them. I made them out of Plymouth Yarn's Galway in a colorway I am calling "cut grass". Instead of using buttons and elastic to secure the straps, I am using snaps.

I can't wait to wear them this winter when the floors are cool to the touch and I pitter-patter up and down the stairs.

Next you'll see one of three felted bowls I made this week. I am getting a jump on my holiday knitting. If you take a peek at the Finished Objects page you can see two red ones that I also completed. They look a little lumpy as I photographed them while they are still damp and they were a bit weighted down by the water. My first batch wasn't a hit, but this most recent group came out just right.

I used a single strand of Reynolds Lopi for this blue bowl and I stretched it over our vegetable strainer. It gave it a great shape. I think I may have found my blocking mold!

Well, I like them, too, both the slippers and the bowl. Beautiful work.

The Mary Janes are wonderful- well felted and a really good shape. I have made quite a few things from One Skein but not yet tried the bowls. After seeing so many beautiful examples on the One Skein Blog, I am tempted to try.

Those shoes show you have the "sole" of an artist! They belong in a gallery in the Emerald City!
