Waiting for the weekend

This weekend we are going camping. It's an annual thing, but this year there is a bit of a twist, most of our fellow campers won't be there as they will be visiting a much-adored and loved patient. And I will miss their presence terribly. However, we have decided to go ahead with a mini-version and will be sharing a spot with Cynical's parents.

We haven't prepared in the slightest. Between work, fighting off a sinus issue and our penchant for watching the weather to determine our true intent, we just haven't done much in the way of preparation. Last night after dinner with some friends, however, I did manage to dig out some clothes for the promised cooler temperatures. Tonight I will sort out our gear and check it. (The good news is that my OCD pays off on this stuff because it's already essentially packed in the basement, just needs to be hauled up the steps and rearranged a bit.) Then it's off to the grocery.

I guess next I have to get myself ready: toiletries, yarn, books, digital cameras, needles, pillows, patterns, glasses. . . all the stuff a girl can't live without.

Cynical is working late tomorrow, so picture two very tired, very frustrated city folk putting up their tent in the dark. It won't be pretty, so avoid campsite #40 at all costs.

Here's to projected cooler temperatures, burnt marshmallows and knitting the second Cherry Tree Hill sock.

Oh and to a big secret I am dying to share with you guys, but have sworn on all that is good in my life, to wait until mid-September.
