Today is my grandmother's birthday. She would have been 96; and we celebrated in the most wonderful of ways: we welcomed Baby Kate into the world.
Our close friends in Austin welcomed thier first child this morning. Upon hearing the news, I literally cried tears of joy. Joy for the new parents holding their little pink daughter, joy for the new baby about to embark on the wonderful journey of life. And joy for all of the lives she will touch.
PS: Our niece, Princess M, is celebrating her second birthday as well. May peace, joy and happiness be yours today and each day thereafter, sweet little girl.

BTW, totally unrelated, but did you see that James Brown passed away on Christmas? How very sad. But he still loves you, baby.
