There were lots of things I should have been doing today, but there was very little I wanted to do, so I wasted away most of my morning watching episodes of "Judging Amy", which is strangely addictive; conning Cynical into cooking breakfast and lunch for me; and reorganizing my Christmas stash in true obsessive-compulsive fashion.
Late in the afternoon we did venture out for a good workout, gift card spending and some gift exchanging. I had hoped to make a good attempt at a nap, but fell short of my goal due to repeated phone calls and general restlessness.
I joined my brother and nephew for a late dinner at a local restaurant that I don't visit often, but now wish I did. After a wonderful meal, great conversation and a shared canoli, we headed home. I do love spending time with my brothers, but it only makes me miss them more whenever I must say goodbye. Again, there is something about sharing time with those that you have shared most of your life with: your siblings. And the experience is always enhanced when they pick up the check.
And now it's time for bed, yet another day of my vacation slipping away. Come morning, I will be saying farewell to my family from afar and I must admit that I am so very sad to see the sweet little redhead and perpetually tanned little boy leave, not to mention their parents.
On Wednesday, I am hoping for a trip to a nearby town to expend a gift card or two and spend more quality time with my beloved. Maybe we'll squeeze in a matinee as well. The best gift of all is having lots of quality time with my Cynical.
It's amazing that such a small box can hold such a big cat.
PS: That's Ike in the box; but it does remind me so of Sammy.

Sounds like a lovely vacation day.
Sweet photo of your beloved Sammy kitty. It is pretty funny how they can squeeze into such cramped spaces.
I thought that was Sammy. What a beautiful picture!
May I suggest Charlott's Web for a good Matinee? We took the brood to see it on Christmas. I adored it. Of course, it may not be manly enough for Cynical. :)
Sounds like you are really enjoying your vacation. Have fun today spending your gift cards. I love getting gift cards. I usually use them to buy stuff that I normally wouldn't buy for myself. Have fun.
It sounds lovely. I'm jealous of the time you and Cynical get to spend together. With it being tire chain season, The Man's back at work this morning. But he did take yesterday off. I'm not complaining. Just saying.
Sounds like you had a lovely evening with your Bro and all. I know that me and my Bro can get plumb goofy when we are together. Even the mundain becomes hallarious. I think some siblings just do that.
Just like Farm Wife I thought that was a picture of Sammy. Very pretty kitty.
