Rain, rain and more rain: Day 4

Today was wet and rainy. So, instead of staying inside where it's nice, dry and warm, I ventured out for a trip to the grocery store. You see, we have guests coming tomorrow and unless they can survive on brown sugar, stale lasagna noodles and peppermint icecream, I needed to do some shopping.

After a tromp through puddles, dodging of carts and maneuvering through a crowded parking lot, I met a friend at her house for lunch. After a great visit, some reminiscing and some quality baby holding, I headed out for some last minute errands.

The rest of my afternoon was spent completing the last of a pair of mittens and getting our house ready for our guests. I fear it's the calm before the storm; so we are trying to prepare for the harsh waters ahead.

Cynical made it home early from work, so we snuck away for some last minute shopping and dinner.

Freed from my Christmas knitting, I am working on a mistake rib scarf in some Andes wool.
