I had to venture to the post office at lunch today. I like to go there. I know that's odd, but I like the idea of thinking of people sending goodies to each other, even though I suspect they are mostly returning gifts that don't fit or maybe stuff damaged in shipping or mailing a bill that must be postmarked today.
As I rounded the car to get the three small boxes I needed to send, the lady next to me offered to help me carry something. Being as I only had parcels of light-weight knitted items, I thanked her for the offer, and we headed toward the door.
That simple gesture made me smile, made me glad I braved the cold to stand in line at the post office. A random act of kindness.

Surprising how something small like that can mean so much.
