is that the tub will remain green. You see, it's cast-iron and set into the wall. To remove it would mean a particularly difficult refab of the floor and surrounding area. However, we will make the most of it; the floor, trim and wall color will "compliment" the tub, making the best of a very green situation. Changing that will be the new owner's issue. It's our way of saying, "Happy new house. . . . we're outta here."
You know, I feel better already, admitting that we have a green tub. Acceptance is the first step, right?
And, showering at the Y is actually much more efficient than getting ready at home, few distractions.

Why is it that I feel better about my own green tub knowing you have to keep yours and that you will make it look so spectacular the new owner will probably buy the house because of it.
I can't afford the remodel right now so I'm thinking I should make the best out of my bad situation as well. How can I cover up the shiney wallboard stuff?

I've always wanted a pink tub...but maybe if you paint the bathroom pink, it will look like the tub is green on purpose.
Don't they make paint specifically for cast iron bathtubs?
We have done the cast iron tub thing before. A few well placed blows with a sleadge hammer and you can carry in out pretty easy. The drywallers can cover up the whole but the floor can be an issue if you dont want to redo it. What ever it will be beautiful.
