I had big plans to relax today. I had even shared this grand scheme with Cynical. I even mentioned it on my blog. I think I even wrote it on my calendar.
A rainy day would have made this possible. A day of sunshine and warm temperatures got in the way of my big plans.
I began my morning by baking blackberry muffins (yes, baking). Laundry, sheets, bathrooms, floors and a cluttered desk were calling my name. Soon thereafter, I heard someone else calling my name. Cynical had big plans involving yard work. And since I hate to see that guy toil out in the bright sunshine alone, I joined him. As he manned the Weedeater, I prepared our garden bed by pulling weeds and filling it with soil and compost. Some sweeping, trimming, and sundry other outdoor chores took up most of my afternoon.
Mexican food, a lengthy and expensive trip to Wal-Mart and a quick stop by the recycling center took up the remainder. A grill in need of a spring cleaning, more laundry and some cooking (yes, cooking) consumed my evening.
And now I am finally getting a chance to sit down, dream of homegrown tomatoes, fresh cut grass, and a completed Glee, that just happens to fit.
I can always relax tomorrow.
Last weekend Cooper and I enjoyed the sunshine making its way into our living room. Who doesn't like sunshine?

You know, every time I plan, really PLAN a day, it just doesn't happen the way I thought it would. I'm sitting here this morning, looking at a house in which every room needs serious attention, and I've been wondering if I can just get one room in order for today. Just one!! OK, I'm gonna give it a try. Let's see if I can get everything that has been unpacked in the bedroom put away and/or organized today. No, please don't hold your breath!! As I said, my planned days don't usually work out as planned!!
The sun is glorious. Hub turned our air conditioner on yesterday. It seems too early, but it was necessary. I've got to make a pilgrimage to Walmart to get some gourd seeds
did you say something after blackberry muffins? I got lost after that...mmmmmmm...muffins....
