Cynical and I are looking to make a trek to Charleston, SC in October. Any thoughts on where we could stay? In my dreams we find a little beach house that's affordable. Please don't burst my bubble.

I think Zann from A place to ponder went there a few years ago on va-ca...not sure where they stayed. I'd love to see Charleston! Enjoy...
Oooh Oooh! I know!! Try Turtle Bay Rentals. #24 to be exact. When we were in Charleston several years ago we ran into Andrea Weathers who authored and illustrated the book (http://hermythehermitcrab.com) Hermy the Hermit Crab and she mentioned to us that she had a beach house for rent on Folly beach. I have her number if you'd like it. It was a couple of years ago that we talked to her. We always meant to go back and stay at her rental but we still haven't made it back to Charleston. We stayed at the Ashley Inn which is a nice enough B&B and the Comfort Inn at Folly Beach when we went. Feel free to email me and I'll give you Ms. Weather's phone number. As I recall her rates were quite reasonable.

Wow, looks like you've got a GREAT lead on a wonderful place. How fun!! I have not been to either of the Carolina's. It's on my to-do list! Especially since we have extended family in N. Carolina. The dog-niece I helped traverse across the country lives there now with sister-in-law's brother.
