Sparks are flying. . .

With the 4th of July falling in the middle of the week and the fact that we just enjoyed a weekend away, we opted to celebrate Independence Day very quietly around Chez Ragged.

Why is it that whenever you can sleep late, you don't? We stayed up late last night catching up on our DVRd programming and I had anticipated lounging in bed until it was no longer morning. We were up bright and early, earlier than usual actually. The humidity kept us inside and we each had a list of projects we needed to tackle.

We eventually opted to shed our pajamas for our going to town duds and we headed out to see "Transformers" and hit the book store. I'll leave it to my beloved to provide a review. Suffice to say I was entertained and not disappointed; which doesn't say much as I only knew the theme song and had been informally introduced to Mega-Tron and Optimus Prime.

Our evening plans included big ideas of grilling out, but a faulty grill and rain mean that we are opting for plan B. Darned our lack of mechanical ability and evening showers.

I am certain the neighbors will fill the skies with illegal fireworks purchased under the dark of night across the bridge. As for us, we'll watch as the cats scamper to hide, curse a bit at the fact our neighbors are still sending bottle rockets into the sky late into the night when we both have full days at work ahead of us.

Our kitty wasn't very happy with the illegal fireworks last night at 1am either. tonight's city fireworks are relatively closeby, too, so i suspect she'll be under the covers and anxious again.
Another beautiful photo!

Sounds like a relaxing day.

We did some mowing and then not to much of anything else.

The people who sell fireworks two yards down from us still have some left apparently, and set them off last night as well. I hope they run out soon.
