We haven't had a weekend at home during the fall this year. I can't complain as we've been on the road. However, I have to admit that it felt good to have some time to enjoy the long shadows, the bright trees and the soothing breeze in the comfort of our own community.
We kicked off our weekend with a viewing of the play, "Little Shoppe of Horrors" and dinner out. On Saturday I trekked to a nearby county to visit a friend whose father was in the hospital. The drive there was gorgeous as the leaves have finally begun to change and the weather was perfect. Yesterday afternoon I managed to complete that infamous to-do list, only to create another.
As for the evening, television sucked it all up. I should be ashamed, but what's a girl to do with three weeks of DVRd programs cluttering up her playlist? I had to catch up, clear out the clutter, right?
And today it was much of the same. Instead of raking leaves, taking a long drive to further admire the foliage or drizzling caramel over apples, we caught up on our Blockbuster movies. Yet again, television stole the largest portion of my day.
We redeemed ourselves, after using a crowbar to pry our arses off the of the couch, by heading out for a late lunch, a nice walk and a little errand running. However, I suspect the gravitational pull of our tv is so too strong to fight. I expect it to claim our Sunday evening as well.

Bravo for getting out as much as you did!! I only went out yesterday because the empty fridge demanded me to. Aside from that, i've been planted in front of either the tv screen or the computer screen, or both at the same time. lol!
OHHH, I love Little Shoppe of Horrors. Did once starred in a local production. On our recent vacation she, her sister, and Justin sang the whole soundtrack in the hot tub. I'm sure the neighbors appreciated it.
"Down on skid row...."
And then there's Ravelry. I've spent many an evening browsing the pages . . . . and I have homework to do. Oops.
I do think TV is evil...but I get sucked in too. I live in a house with 4 men (basically, my three teenagers are all as big as men). They seem to think it's illegal to be in the house unless the TV is on. Oh! There are days I'm just climbing the walls from the noise. Then there are days I want them all to go away so I can sit for a couple of hours and catch up on all my weekly addictive TV shows. Only 4 or 5. And I skip the commercials. Yea DVR!!!!
You made a to-do list and actually got it completed? I'm in awe. I don't think in my whole life I've ever done that.
