It's been a hectic weekend. Whenever I glanced at the clock and saw that it was 2 p.m. today I was completely caught off guard. . . where had my weekend gone? Those 48 hours had been eaten up by a road trip, cleaning marathon, some knitting, watching the first season of Roswell and making a late night run for ice cream.
I must confess, my weekend has been full of guilty pleasures, so perhaps now it's time for true confessions. As mentioned, last night, after watching four episodes of Roswell, we made a grocery run and in the midst of garlic bread, vitamins and salad mix, I hid chocolate covered pretzels and Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia.
And, so long as I am confessing, I have been on a bit of a cleaning frenzy, something I am sure that Cynical considers a guilty pleasure. I have been going room by room, taking one a night, and cleaning it literally from ceiling to floor. Mop buckets block our path. Blinds fill our bathtub. Xerox boxes full of "expendable stuff" are stacked in the corners. And today I completed the process, finally attacking our kitchen.
It's my way of staving off the holidays, working of some frustrated energy and accomplishing something in the process. Plus I keep thinking that soon the house will be filled with Christmas decorations, wrapping paper and boxes. It seemed like a good time to clear out some unneeded or unwanted items, and in the process clean a very dusty and cat hair-coated house. Our blinds were literally fuzzy.
Thanks to the spurring of fellow "Veronica Mars" fan, Brando, I also ended up with the first two seasons of the show, all for me! I had actually gone out hoping to find the second season on sale for the show's newest fan (Brando) and somehow came home with the first two for myself as well.
And now I am watching a movie I have seen before, "Under the Tuscan Sun". I find that sometimes watching movies you already know and know well is a bit of a guilty pleasure. No careful watching to assure you don't miss a plot twist. No rewinding to rehear something whispered. You just relax and enjoy it all over again. No thinking required.
Forgive me, as I must cut this short, I am off to yet another time-sucker and deep pleasure: Ravelry.

There are some movies that you watch BECAUSE you know what happens and they make you feel good. "Under the Tuscan Sun" is definitely one. Another one for me is "Six Days, Seven Nights."
I agree. Did and I decided against renting any new movies and watched "Love Actually" this weekend. It was so much fun. It really was a bit indulgent.
As long as it isn't a movie I have memorized, because then I tend to fall asleep! I love to re-watch movies with major plot twists to see if it was obvious & I'm a big dolt.
When you're done with your house you can come clean out mine! :)
Hurray!! You're watching Roswell! That series will be one of my 'go to' dvd's whenever i want to marathon craft. As you said, no worries about missing a plot twist. All the new tv shows? I can't craft while watching lest i miss something crucial. And have a spoon of B&J's for me, K?
