Sad, but true

As you know, dear Cynical now primarily works from home. This is a nice perk for both of us. He gets to take a nap in a bed as opposed to an office chair. I get to make dinner requests.

In addition, it also means I can call and talk to him without entering an extension or having to make small talk with the receptionist, who I wouldn't recognize on the street (or a road or a boulevard). I also get regular updates on what comes in the mail and can ask numerous questions about the origin of the package, the size of the package and what the package sounds like when shaken.

Today I got an e-mail announcing a small puffy package had been delivered from Louisville. The last name is not familiar, so I called with additional inquiries, trying to disect what was in said package without allowing Cynical to open it. Opening, afterall, is the most fun and why would I let him steal my fun.

In the midst of the conversation, I was also able to direct Cynical to some boxes he no doubt needs to for giftwrapping my goodies. In the midst of the conversation, he got into a slight argument with Izzie, our lone female cat. I say argument instead of fight, as it involved no physical contact, just verbal banter.

Yes, he had a verbal argument with the cat. And, she argued back. And what's worse, I joined in and she squeeked back at me over the phone. And then another cat joined in.

I giggled as we got of the phone and then was struck with horror that we are, very much so, cat people.
