We got a chance to see the house that has been the topic of much discussion at the current Chez Ragged. And even though in many ways we were disappointed, but in others we were intrigued.
The little house that was almost ours requires so much work, more work that we were willing to put in for that price. I kinda dug the pink and green themed (ribbon-tiled) bathrooms. I even loved the cedar lined, walk-in closets. And the storage was phenomenal. What didn't rock were the plaster walls in need of skim-coating, the kitchen in need of a gutting and general work throughout. The beautiful wood floors and storage abound drew me in, very nearly deeply in.
And even though I was intrigued, we walked away. It's only been on the market a week, they probably aren't in a position to deal just yet, and deal we'd have to do; enough to cover the renovations required. All is not lost, the realtor seemed to like our house, and provided only a few pointers for staging it for visitors. We have two weeks as she'll be out of the country; and I think we can whip her into shape in plenty of time. Saturday will be a blitz of sorts, the final loads of stuff going to the storage facility.

Rats! We loved the house but hate that there was so much work to do. Maybe next time will be the one. Keep us updated.
In a past life I wanted to be an architect. Then a real estate broker. Then a real estate appraiser. What's my point? I love houses, buying/selling/floorplans...etc. So your search and results are very intriguing to me. I wish you much luck and very little frustration.
That bathroom is certainly intriguing. It makes me wonder about the owner of the house... did she think that she was a real live barbie doll? Did she have a husband that used that pink toilet? The matching is certainly admirable. We have white walls with gray tile floors.
Waiting will probably be a good thing... good luck!
I say rats too! The outside screamed call me Chez Ragged!
