I knit. . . therefore I am

The weekend was fruitful in so many ways. Not only did I manage to watch yet another SVU marathon, but I finished up two knitted gifts. Given my propensity toward handmade gifts and my new found love for saving money for the house, knitting for my loved ones makes perfect sense.

That being said, I finished up a hat as a thank you for my very own personal accountant who not only volunteered to do my taxes, but also squeezed out a nice refund. I used a cashmere blend and it was verra, verra soft and affordable. Fingers crossed it fits her tastes.

I also knitted a cotton market bag for a friend having a birthday next month. This is my second market bag and said friend had coveted mine, so I made one up in her favorite team colors. Here's hoping she likes it.

In between these mini knitting marathons, Cynical and I visited my old college town where we did some heavy-duty shopping. Don't you love big sales this time of year. I escaped with some great buys on clothes suitable for work along with some yarn (everyone say Mmmmmmalabrigo) and some new shoes. Nothing exciting, but seriously expands my choices for day-to-day.

I spent most of my Sunday doing laundry, organizing my knit patterns, clearing out my stash a bit and wrapping up projects around here. Oh, and last night we stalked a house. . . in the dark of the night. . . which just might work for us; we just have to see the inside. I think that's important, don't you, seeing the inside before we buy it.

In other good news, I have mastered giving Cooper his antihistamine twice a day. Whew, it was hard on us both, Cooper and I, that is.

Hey, maybe the Karma that skipped out on you after helping your co-worker clear the car went to have extra-good Karma for the house.

Yes? Maybe?

What a lucky accountant! Cashmere...mmmmm
If you like surprises you could wait to see the inside until after you buy it. It might be fun. It could be trimmed in gold, like a Donald Trump home. Or trimmed in cobwebs like the Adams Family. So many possibilities.
