I luv Valentine's Day

I know it makes me more corny than Corn Pops, but I do love holidays, all of them. Valentine's Day is no exception. I'm one of those people that actually still sends cards on February 14. I even tried to convince my co-workers to decorate shoe boxes and place them on their desk for "special deliveries" that day. No one played along; instead I just got polite grins; the same grins they give me when I suggest we dress as bride's maids for Halloween.

Cynical and I, much to my chagrin, decided to celebrate on February 13 with dinner out. It's all his way of avoiding crowds. Cynical and his clan aren't celebratory; my clan, on the other hand, celebrates everything and I mean everything. Birthdays, St. Patrick's Day, 4th of July, we'll take any excuse to get together, eat and wear funny hats.

So we went out for a nice dinner, canoli (sorry Pilot, I felt guilty eating it without you, but not guilty enough not to eat it all and scrape the plate), a glass of wine, nice conversation and a little reminiscing.

Last night we changed gears and celebrated Chez-Ragged style with Chinese take-out and a trip to UPS. Yep, my baby loves me so much he took me to UPS for Valentine's Day. Brown does happen to be my color of choice.

Sad, eh, but fruitful, as it put to rest the mystery of why UPS called Sunday saying they'd be delivering something and when they didn't show, we pouted for no real good reason as we had not a clue what we should be pouting over. Turns out I won a Real Simple drawing and claimed a copy of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age". Not quite worth the drive to the far reaches of Kentucky to pick up, but kinda cool overall. (Hey, Brando, think I should put it up on ebay? Brando is my ebay hero by the way.)

And we wrapped the evening up with a stop at Starbucks and watching "Lost". Don't be a hater, all jealous over the oozing romance at Chez Ragged.
