Passing thoughts

It's late at Chez Ragged and I must admit that I am up much later than usual. Seems that around 10 each night, I typically hear the covers calling my name. But more than my share of caffeine, the desire to wrap up a knitting project and a general mental momentum have helped me resist the urge. Cynical, however, is well on his way to REM sleep and I am certain he's snoring by now.

I've had a busy day full of chores not worth mentioning, but all of which add up to a productive Saturday. I like days like that. . . ones where you wrap up little projects, tend to things left long-neglected. It's rewarding.

And not its late into the night, early into the morning, and I am sittng alone counting so many blessings, so many reasons to smile, so many little moments that add up to a full life.

-I was reminded of the following poem during a visit with my parents today and I'm sharing it with you:

Time To Rise
by Robert Louis Stevenson
A birdie with a yellow bill
Hopped upon the window sill,
Cocked his shining eye and said:
"Ain't you 'shamed, you sleepy-head?"

-Last night my dear friend L called to tell us all about the birth of her daughter, born February 16 in the same hospital where I was born. What a blessing to simply hear the joy in her voice, to share in a very special day and to know someone so filled with love she could almost burst.

-We got an unexpected invitation to lunch tomorrow with Brando and Rudy who will be passing through. How awesome! We so rarely get to see them and it's very exciting to get some time to visit them.

-This will be a big year for Cynical and I. In addition to planning to sell our house and move to another, we are hopeful for a few other big changes as well. Don't start picking out baby names, it's nothing like that, but I feel big things are coming my way.

Forgive me, I must go now, it seems I've found a movie that I've seen about 146 times, it's sure to put me to sleep.

I promise to post a photo. . . just not enough gumption to download one right now.

I'm also wondering what movie you've seen 146 times!
