Home is where the heart is

Since we signed the contract on the sale of our current home, there has been a mad dash to start packing. Boxes are stacked in every corner and there is an air of mayhem right now. And as excited as I am about the move and our new place, I have found myself feeling nostalgic for our sweet little house.

One of my favorite things about this house is a huge heirloom Hydrangea that has grown to take up a huge area at the east side of our home. It's full of large flat leaves and beautiful blue and purple blooms. I know that when we move I'll miss my beautiful "snow ball" bush. We also have a ring of Tigerlillies. Each year they appear suddenly and even though they aren't around long, I love them. Tall and statuesque.

Yesterday after a visit with Cynical's family, I snuck outside and shot lots of photos of each group of flowers, my own little tribute to our first little house.

Can you take a cutting from the hydrangea with you? And some tiger lily, too?

It's always hard when you're leaving someplace that has memories, isn't it?

I was gonna suggest taking a cutting, too. I have a black thumb so have no idea how to do this, but my MIL is gifted and can transplant just about anything so i know it's possible.
Glad to hear you're photographing it all. Every nook and cranny, yes?
