Watch out! The vacation express is moving full speed ahead. . . with or without enough shoes

This week we are in full Get The Heck Out of Town mode. My list is extensive, my schedule tight and my OCD raging. I love to travel and I must admit that there is a part of me that even likes the preparation. While I immediately go into robot mode and start chipping away at the mound of stuff we have to do, my dear Cynical if frozen by the vast array of things on his list. It's ok, as that just makes me work faster and more efficiently and it all comes out in the end.

Right now we are striving to find answers to the age-old packing the car questions and discussions such as:

-I need shoes appropriate for each part of our trip, so let go of the "two pair are ample" mentality.

-There is nothing wrong with bringing three pieces of reading material. What if I am not in the mood for "Eat, Pray, Love"? Speaking of "eat", what sorts of snacks are we bringing?

-Do I have to wear make-up on vacation?

-The big suitcase it the better choice for me, right?

-We have room for approximately 25 of your favorite CDs, choose wisely or else it's Dave Matthews Band and ABBA for approximately 20 hours of driving time. (This could be a treat as my rendition of "Fernando" is, shall we say, "memorable".)

-Now would be a good time for a new camera, don't you think?

-I will have Internet access, right?

-She must love us if she's willing to clean the litter box while we're gone. She's getting more than an "I *Heart* Charleston" t-shirt.

Maybe you could do a Dave Matthews/ABBA remix of Fernando. That might be interesting. "Come crash into Fernando."

Have fun in Charleston! I know you'll love it.
LOL at Art's comment. And thanks for mentioning Fernando... now I will be singing it the rest of the day. Always better to over pack than under, I say.

Chugga chugga ahead baby! Sounds like you're driving there so you can take as much as you want! Plus, you have no attachment to my husband who is the packing nazi-little gives me more grief in our marriage than packing for a trip with that man. But i have to admit that i've learned how to travel cross country for 7 days with just a small backpack and my camera.

Happy travels and take hundreds of photos...with that new camera. :)

Let me know what you think of "Eat, Love, Pray". I love to organize and re-organize for vacation packing, too. And I'm pretty good at it. Weel that's something to take pride in at least.
