Our Wednesday began with quite a hike in search of two things: the Morris Island Lighthouse and a virtual cache. Luckily the trek was fruitful and we found both. . . as well as dolphins, a beautiful view and a peaceful morning.
After the sweaty, hot hike we went into Charleston for a little more caching, which took us to a beautiful hidden walkway behind a church which included a historic graveyard and a beautiful natural garden.
We nabbed lunch at Poogan's Porch and after we were refreshed and cooled off, we did some more walking and touring. Throughout our day we managed to find a few more caches, stop in the Exchange Building, visit the White Church, Washington Park, Waterfront Park and Adgers Wharf.
Tired and ready for some time on the beach, we headed back and walked along Folly one last time. A steady wind created a bit of a sandstorm, covering us and our blanket with a fine coat. We made the best of it, walking along the water's edge, wading and enjoying the sunset.
For dinner we decided to head back into Charleston. All dressed up, we made our way to High Cotton for dinner and dessert. Sadly we made our rounds along the water, pausing to sit in a swing and admire the city's lights.
Much too tired to blog last night, I reluctantly packed up a few things. We awoke this morning to heavy rain and winds, which I am trying to call a "sign" that it's time to leave, but I must admit, I don't want to. I want to stay in this sweet room with its huge bathroom, glass-enclosed shower, mints on the pillow, luxurious robes and pretty blue and pink bikes.
Reality, however, won't allow it, so we'll load up soon and head to Asheville. It's a bittersweet drive though, as we are leaving Folly and Charleston sadly, but soon we'll be celebrating my brother's wedding and all of the festivities leading up to it, so don't feel too sorry for us.

your pics are making me soooo jealous. Have a good time in Asheville. I love weddings although I'm not sure I'll have that same feeling when it comes time for my own brother's. But anyway, a wedding in Asheville, what could be better? Thanks for taking us along through your pictures.
