It took a while for Cynical and I to actually admit we "like-liked" each other and in the phases just prior to that confession, we went to a Hootie and the Blowfish concert with a bunch of my friends. At that time I wasn't much of a drinker, but I remember it being hot and humid, and so I bought a big old cold beer. It wasn't long after that it began raining. I had new Bohemian sandals on and in truly strange mix of hippiness and OCD, I took them off, put them in a plastic bag and danced on the muddy hillside with my Cynical.
I think Hootie gets a bad rap. I don't care if listeners gave up on college rock. I never really did. I still like me some Hootie, particularly when it makes me remember dancing in the rain. Came across my collection of their CDs, all of them. You know you love them, admit it. Hold my hand and sing along:

I do, I do!
Randy likes Hootie and I admit, I made fun of him for it...until I realized that I enjoyed singing along with it. I guess I do too. It takes me back to high school times.
If nothing else, Darius has a great voice. (His name *is* Darius, right?)
Shows how out of touch I am, I didn't know Hootie was mockable. I've liked them since...forever.
I like the visual of you dancing barefoot in the mud and rain. :)
