You Gotta Have Faith

I had come up with several things that I had wanted to blog about today, but an unfortunate series of events has lead me to a new topic.

We learned today that Cynical's mother will have open heart surgery tomorrow morning. Early morning chest pains sent her to the hospital and a series of tests lead them to the conclusion that she has blockage in at least three arteries.

Needless to say, this has thrown everyone into a tail spin. I begin my post tonight with a request that you muster all of your faith and say a heartfelt prayer that she has a successful surgery and that she is returned to a healthy life. Please do me this favor.

I had intended to complain about several things in this entry, but now they all seem very trivial. Why complain about grumpy people or lament on the poor quality tortilla chips at lunch; even if the waiter was grumpy and the chips were stale? I guess this all reminds me to look at the big picture.

Again, I ask for your prayers not only for the patient, but for her family as well.
