Bubble Toes

When I began this site I had really intended to use it as a sounding board for my rants and raves. However, my recent posts have had a bit of an optimistic edge to them and I must apologize. I feel as if I lead you astray. I promise more bitching and ranting in the future. But alas, today’s blog is *sigh* slightly upbeat as well.

I had started building up my usual frustration, but one event set me on a different path: yesterday I got feet in the mail. Yes, feet. Before you call the police or stop reading, please let me clarify, my sister-in-law sent me several photos of my niece (Princess S) and one of them was of her chubby little adorable feet. I even caught myself rubbing the soles of them with my finger. They were sooooo cute. Darnit, that one photo sucked all of the pessimism out of me.

I am sure that my trip to Wal-Mart this afternoon will refuel my cynicism. However, the world is working against me. I have more good news to share.

Yoga starts again tonight. I have mentioned previously my love of yoga. Like the vegetarian thing, I am not advanced, but I get a lot of enjoyment from my weekly one-hour classes. It’s been a while since I have been able to go, so I am really looking forward to it. I fear that I have lost a bit of my flexibility, so this should be a real treat for those around me as well. I am certain my body has atrophied a bit since my last class.

My floors are clean. Yes, I dedicated the better part of my evening (prior to Rock Star: INXS) to sweeping, mopping and vacuuming my floors. This is no small task given the quantity of cat hair floating around our house. However, I must admit, my floors are sparkling. Nothing like a good cleaning workout to put everything in perspective. Oh, and I called all of the cats together, warned them of the ramifications of tracking litter and to share this threat with their other owner, Cynical.

I celebrated my clean floors and Rock Star: INXS with a 12-ounce Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. Aaaaah, satisfaction. (Even though the show didn't include any performance footage.)

New school supplies make every girl giddy as you probably read previously. I went to Target (aka Mecca) to boost my mood on Sunday (and yes, I also went on Saturday, what’s your point?) and came home with hip and cool school supplies which I proudly brought to work today in an effort to stay organized. I am sure all of the others girls are green with envy.

See, there have been lots of things chipping away at the chip on my shoulder. However, I am reasonably sure that soon, someone will repair that chip and I will be sharing my dismay with you soon.

This photo depicts one of my pet peeves: people who abandon shopping carts in parking places making it impossible for others to use the quality spot. This particular spot is only three away from the door at Target. It’s blasphemy to do such a thing. (See, I am back!)
