Better I should go. . .

Each year the employment fairies grant me 10 days of vacation time. I cherish each and every moment of those 80 hours and hoard them all year long. I use them around Christmas in an attempt to link them with paid holidays and get more bang for my vacation buck. (Translation: more days I can sleep late.)

However, due to some long hours and a heavy workload, I am stealing away for the afternoon with Cynical and it's not even December!

I haven't been this excited about taking time off since we went to San Francisco several years ago. It feels decadent and gluttonous to take an entire 4 hours off and do with them what we will. (Get your mind out of the gutter).

We are returning to my college town for some shopping and because Cynical (after my recent trip) is feeling a little sentimental as well. I must say that I think I am looking forward to the journey there more than anything. We will have over an hour together, uninterupted, to talk, laugh and sing. It's unheard of. It's a concept I could get used to: time with Cynical that doesn't involve television, folding laundry or discussing what detergent to buy.

I am useless today in anticipation. . . better I should go. I promise photos from our escapade.
