I love Christmas music. I always have and always will. As a result, I have oodles of holiday CDs. About five years ago I started putting that collection to good use by making a compilation CD complete with holiday magic-inspired cover for all of my family and friends.
I had planned to stop doing it last year, but got a very sad e-mail from someone anxiously awaiting her CD, so I extended it another year and this year opted to do the same. So, I am unveiling the line-up for the 2006 Ragged Christmas CD. What do you think?
Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer by Jack Johnson
Sleigh Ride by Johnny Mathis
White Christmas by Chris Isaak
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by U2
Pretty Paper by Roy Orbison
I’ll Be Home for Christmas by Harry Connick Jr.
Jingle Bells by Lisa Loeb
Winter Wonderland by Jason Mraz
Santa Baby by Everclear
Let It Snow by Michael Buble’
Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town by Ray Charles
Silent Night by Ben Harper & the Blind Boys of Alabama
O Holy Night by Jim Brickman
O Little Town of Bethlehem by Willie Nelson
Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon
Ave Maria by JewelI may be pushing the envelope this year on newer stuff. I always try to include some classic artists and their version, but this year I included a few updated ones. You can thank Cynical for the Willie Nelson one!

I think it sounds like a great lineup. Good choices.
Why thank you!
Sounds like a great mix to me.
Wow, I see why it's called a "mix." I love the "Blind Boys from Alabama" but haven't heard them do Christmas.
"Sleigh Ride" by Johnny Mathis will always be my favorite. (My daughter and I harmonize on it every time we get in the car.)
The other songs are great, too, although I admit there are a couple of artists on there I'm not familiar with.
But my burning question is with the CD cover. Did you create it yourself? It's absolutely beautiful!
I think your music selection is great. A little bit of old and a little bit of new. A nice balance. I think John Cusack in High Fidelity would approve of your "tape" CD. Needles and I just watched it again for the ? time last night. :)
I so love John Cusack and High Fidelity cracks me up every time I see it. I also love Grosse Point Blanke. Gotta watch that again while I am off over the holidays.
No Dave Matthews Band, but you will be glad to know that I included it last year and since I change it up, I couldn't do it again. I do love the song though.
I took the cover from a card and then kinda adapted it. I love Christmas cards, so this worked. I am glad you liked it, Cate. You are so creative that I take this as a big compliment!
