Last night we had house guests. The good news is that they came late, the bad news is that we aren't sure when they are returning.
I should clarify: we love having house guests, we really do. Just that this is the first for us to host these and it's a tad stressful.
Cynical was off today. (Everyone cheer!). We saw our guests off and then went out to breakfast, just the two of us, realizing that there won't be much couple time over the next few days. After much French toast, too much hashbrown casserole and a little fire gazing at Cracker Barrel, we ran a few errands and I found myself in desperate need of a nap. I had joked all week about napping, but truth be told, I am not much of a daytime sleeper. I am not an accomplished napper. Cynical on the other hand always gets a 10 from the Russian Judge for form, length and intensity. He's quite a napper, a gold medalist of sorts.
So, with the magic down throw covering me, the television playing softly and Izzie joining me, I slept for what we think may be over an hour. It was so nice. However, it took me a while to get completely awake, completely oriented and ready to get up. That's what I hate about napping: the hour after. UGH.
I conned Cynical into doing my last minute wrapping. (I generally wrap for my dad.) Cynical also got 9.5 from the German judge for innvation, presentation and resourcefulness. He's a Renaissance man!
Now we sit, warm, relaxed, contemplating dinner and wondering what television holds for us. Prince P thinks that " television makes you stupid", so I am feeling pretty darned ignorant. No going back now. Hand me the remote.

Click away, girl! You've got plenty of firing brain cells to sacrifice a few to the couch potato cause.
I so miss Cracker Barrel. It reminds me of being a kid and going there with my parents. My dad and I would always play that wooden triangle with holes and golf tees game... I love those. And the little country store...oh i love the store. And the rocking chairs out front. When I grow up I will have rocking chairs out front. It's gonna be great.
I so love the ratings in the Napping and Wrapping Olympics. Thanks for the giggle.
Ooooh, I love to wait outside there in the summer and rock in the chairs. Let me tell you, the hashbrown casserole will make you sell your soul.
Cynical could enter the wrapping and napping Olympics, but I think that they frown on it now that he's gone pro. ; )
