It's not easy being green

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

In celebration of this momentous occasion, we have lined up a very busy, but fruitful weekend.

We are off tonight for a St. Pat's Day dinner and celebration at my parents' house followed by a play. My mother plans this annual event and in attendance will be the most reverent of guests which will soon be less reverent whenever they learn that there is not only Irish beer available, but whiskey as well. Bring on the mashed potatoes and bread pudding.

On Saturday we will bid a happy farewell to the carpet in our living room. I plan to do a "good riddance" ritualistic dance around the pile of dead carpet once it's ripped out of our lives forever. I will pull the vacuum behind me, tossing ceremonial carpet deodorizer in the air as I chant.

Following said ritual, we will don our best concert-going attire* and head out to see Jo Dee Messina, courtesy of Cynical's quick-dialing and country music trivia skills. (I am not sure exactly what one does wear to such an event, but I suspect we can wing it.)

Sunday yields yet another event, Cynical's folks are coming to visit.

I'm tired just reading it. But then again, I'm half-narcolept, so it doesn't count.
