I can see clearly now

All that fretting and all we got was a little thunder and some beautiful lightning illuminating the sky. I am, however, not complaining at all. As we were prepping for bed last night, Cynical, the weather tracker that he is, assured me that we were expected to be out of the path of the high-powered storm front and not to worry at all.

After clearly stipulating that if we did indeed find ourselves in the midst of high winds, torrential rains and tornado alarms, I would hold him personally responsible, I drifted off to sleep and awoke this morning to sunshine streaming through our blinds. Good thing for Cynical, eh?

The threat is not over, however, as weather men and women across our region have us on red alert for another system sure to move in this afternoon. So, I am still lugging my flashlight and rain gear around with me. Always be prepared, I say.

Last night I went to a Magic Loop instructional class offered by my own knitting guru, Needlefingers. As expected, I not only got a peek at the magic method, but was privvy to lots of insider knitting tips. My goal as a knitter is not only to crank out lots of adorable hats and scarves for family and friends, but primarily to understand the dynamics and ins and outs of the craft including fit. Needlefingers gave lots of insight into that very thing. For that I bow to the guru.

I have broken with Project Spectrum for this one project. I am making apple green socks using Opal yarn. Please don't throw oranges or lemons at me, but I so loved the color and couldn't resist. I will note, however, that I am getting mixed reviews whenever I let others examine the chosen shade. They just don't get that this girl needs some funky colors in her wardrobe and my weekend self is a great departure from my work week persona. I am calling these socks Ragged Apple, not to be confused with Gwyneth's daughter, Apple.
