All's well that ends well

The big news is that tonight we are reassembling our living room. Cynical is antsy with anticipation and I am going to have to leash him until this evening as he's ready to get started immediately, but we really need to wait a little longer, just to give it the last little bit of drying time.

I am rushing home to start cleaning the room, taking "after" photographs and maybe get a slide or two in before Cynical gets home. Then, it's all heavy lifting and remembering where everything goes. Now, I bet you thought I made a diagram or something, didn't you? Well, you can't go assuming anything about me and my obsessive-compulsive tendencies.

I have to admit, however, that I am ready to get things back to "normal" and get the house cleaned. Cat hair tumbleweeds and mayhem are more than I can stand.

I present to you Candy Corn. (Details are provided in the Finished Projects section at right.) Candy doesn't have a mate yet, but she will soon no longer be the lone sock. I am most proud of this sock for several reasons and this will mean nothing to non-knitters, so please stay with me here. I managed to turn the heel without incident, ending up with the appropriate number of stitches. I also was able to pick up enough stitches to assure that it is nice and tight and without gaps or holes. I managed to make it through most of the toe with a Kitchner stitch, but did need help at the end. It's the closest I have come to completing a sock without an issue or two. I also cast-on with much larger needles (per a hint from Needlefingers) and they are very stretchy, so they are immediately wearable for me, if it wasn't nearing 90 degrees and I had something that remotely matched these crazy socks.

In the meantime, however, I have to work on a top secret blogger craft exchange, so last night I cast-on for a completely different pair of socks. I haven't named them yet, perhaps you can assist me.

Hey, did the heel work due to my theoretical 'air knitting' of a heel? I hope that solved the mystery.

I think you should name them 'licorice' (keeping the food theme going), because I'm almost sure there's a licorice candy that is pink, yellow, and green and the background looks licorice-y in the photo.

Aha! Licorice Snaps, although they are orange instead of yellow. Still, I say go with it.

OOOH, I love the Candy Corn Sockaroonies!!!

I would never say you were obsessive-compulsive. (Well, to your face anyway! Just kidding!!!)

One of my coworkers has a "box room" and each box is labeled with its contents and numbered and then there's a map she created so she can find the box easily. Annnd its a big secret...MadRetz keeps the boxes her shoes come in and puts a photo of the contents on the outside so she knows which pair are which.

Okay, maybe I'm the only person that thinks that is funny! eek!!!

Mmm, I like the sox with no name. Pretty colors. Since the others are named for candy corn, how 'bout calling these "Jelly Bellys"?
